Abstract
The quasiequilibrium theory, in both its usual form and with a modification applicable to ``loose'' transition states, is used to calculate the kinetic energies of fragments resulting from unimolecular decompositions. It is found that these statistical methods are capable of encompassing the presently available experimental results, except for two relatively unimportant reactions. An extension to the radiation chemistry of the liquid aliphatics is noted. Keywords
