Abstract
Tracheobronchial clearance in humans has been studied by causing subjects to inhale a test aerosol of 6µ particles of Teflon (density, 2 gm/cu cm) tagged with Technetium Tc 99m and externally measuring the particles for about two hours. Comparisons of clearance were carried out in 15 pairs of nonsmoking, monozygotic twins of which one of each pair lived in the city of Stockholm and the other in a rural district or small city. On the average, no difference between the members of each pair could be found. Keywords
