Abstract
The temperature dependence of the domain structure of an Ising ferromagnetic slab is examined near to the critical temperature. It is found that the values of the domain size and surface magnetisation evaluated as the transition temperature is approached from below agree nicely with the values obtained from a theory of the dominant fluctuations in the paramagnetic phase. The theory is compared with available experimental data. Keywords
