Abstract
This study suggests the therapeutic efficacy of combining learning principles and speech therapy procedures in the treatment of an oral apraxic child. The paradigm emphasizes the careful specification and consequation of the desired verbal responses. The WGTA, an apparatus previously employed in psychological research, was used to structure the treatment environment for maximally effective learning. The results of treatment over a six-month period and of a subsequent follow-up evaluation are discussed. Hypotheses are offered to account for the success of the treatment program. Keywords
