Abstract
A number of changes have been described due to the involvement of the nail bed or nail matrix with lichen planus. These changes have been well summarized by Juliusberg.1 Only three cases of permanent and complete onychatrophy were referred to in this review. Review of the literature through 1953 has revealed three additional cases.2 In view of the rarity of this complication of lichen planus, this case is reported. REPORT OF A CASE The patient is a well-preserved white woman, aged 80. She states that between four and five years ago, thickening associated with fissuring of the palms and loosening of the finger-nails appeared. This was accompanied by much pruritus. The procKeywords
