Abstract
We describe the application of the well‐known technique of signal averaging for the enhancement of signal‐to‐noise ratio to the field of ultra‐ and hypersonic waves. The technique often referred to as autocorrelation is useful in at least two ways: (1) as an aid in extending the range of measurements toward higher frequencies, (2) as a help in improving the precision and accuracy in attenuation data. Keywords
