Collision strength for the [Ne II] line at 12.8 m

Abstract
New calculations have been made of the collision strength for $$\text {Ne}^+ 2p^{5\enspace 2}P_{3/2}-^2P_{1/2}$$ using both semi-empirical and elaborate ab initio methods. The results obtained are in satisfactory agreement and the recommended thermally averaged collision strength is $$\text Y=0.293+0.8\times10^{-6} T_\text e$$ with Te in K.
