Abstract
Completely sympathectomized and unoperated control dogs were exposed discontinuously to anoxic anoxia for 27 to 73 days. No consistent difference was found in the degree of polycy-themia attained. It is concluded that the peripheral sympathetic nervous system of the dog is not essential for the polycythemic response of anoxic anoxia. Keywords
