Abstract
Blau and Scott's hypothesis that loyalty to superiors in a hierar chical organization tends to be pronounced at alternate levels was tested in public schools. In addition, several other relationships between subordinate loyalty and various role characteristics of superiors were investigated. Wayne K. Hoy is Associate Professor of Educational Administration at Rutgers University and Leonard B. Williams is Lecturer in Education at Rutgers University.Keywords
