Abstract
Within the framework of a partial-wave expansion, the Schrödinger equation for the asymptotic form of the wave function for two electrons in a Coulomb field is reduced to a set of first-order coupled differential equations in one variable (). The solution of these equations is found both for the monopole interaction only, and the monopole and dipole interactions. The monopole result greatly simplifies an expression derived in an earlier paper. These results can be applied to the calculation of ionization processes for any atom or ion.
