Abstract
When an exciting field of a given frequency is applied to glassy alloys with perminvarlike properties, odd and even harmonics of that frequency are generated with similar amplitudes. The perminvar characteristics required can be approximated, for low fields, by B=μ1H+μ2H2+μ3H3, where μ’s are constant. The quantity μ3 introduces an additional nonlinearity to the conventional B-H behavior, which in turn results in even harmonic terms in B.
