Energy of a Lattice of Quantized Flux Lines

Abstract
Analytic expressions are given for the magnetic flux density and the Gibbs free energy of a bulk type-II superconductor in an intermediate magnetic field (). Both square and triangular lattices are considered; the triangular lattice is confirmed as the more stable structure.
