Abstract
The solution of the infinite-range magnetization equation for arbitrary anisotropic spin Hamiltonians is discussed. The procedure presented is applied to the determination of the phases and phase transitions in a family of systems involving a quadratic as well as a quartic anisotropy.Keywords
