HEREDITARY HEMORRHAGIC TELANGIECTASIA: REPORT OF TWO CASES

Abstract
Two cases of hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia with lesions in the skin, mucous membranes, upper respiratory tract, and colon are reported. One case had hematuria on rare occasions. In one case the hereditary nature of the disease was well established; in the other a positive family history was not obtained, and he may represent an additional instance of atavism in this disease. Both cases have been refractory to the recommended treatments of cauterization of bleeding points, and blood transfusions to maintain adequate Hb levels.
