Abstract
Infertility affects approximately 8–16% of all couples. This common occurrence constitutes a crisis in development for the involved individual, couple, and extended family. This paper presents an overview of the medical, psychological, and relational issues of infertility that are pertinent to the practicing couples and family therapist. Recommendations are presented for the treatment of the individual, couple, and extended family touched by the experience of infertility. Keywords
