Abstract
The transmission of a thick sample of 99.2% has been measured for incident neutron energies from 20 keV to 30 eV. The total cross section from 320 to 30 eV has been fitted in detail with the Breit-Wigner single-level parameters for 15 resonances in this energy region. An acceptable fit was obtained for a common radiation width of 120±10 meV and a radius parameter of (0.63±0.01)× cm. From the average cross section in the keV region a neutron strength function of (0.54±0.10)× was obtained.
