Abstract
As a cause of urethritis, acute epididymitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, and their complications, Chlamydia trachomatis is rapidly outstripping N. gonorrhoeae. Signs and symptoms of chlamydial infections resemble those of gonorrhea, and colnfection is common, but treatment maybe appropriate for gonococci but not chlamydiae. Guidelines are offered for diagnosis and effective treatment. Keywords
