Abstract
An instrument has been developed by which the bilirubin concentration in serum is determined spectrophotometrically. A reading of the difference in absorbance at 450 mµ and 540 mµ is obtained. The presence of hemoglobin or turbidity is corrected for, so that the differential absorbance reading, multiplied by a calibration factor, gives the correct bilirubin concentration. Comparisons with analyses using a Zeiss PMQ spectrophotometer agree closely. Keywords
