Molluscum Contagiosum of the Adult

Abstract
Fifty-five adult patients with molluscum contagiosum were seen during a seven-month period. The lesions were confined to the genital area in all of the patients. Ninety-six percent of the patients had had extramarital sexual intercourse shortly before the appearance of the lesions. These two findings indicated a relationship between coitus and molluscum contagiosum. True venereal transfer seemed likely but could not be proved. In addition some unusual clinical aspects of the disease were noted.
