Abstract
Light scattering is a useful probe of fluid interfacial dynamics. The power spectrum of interfacial capillary waves can be observed, subjected to various instrumental effects. The modification of these effects by the variation of scattered intensity with scattering angle is demonstrated. The predicted skewing of the observed spectrum is shown to concur with observations. All effects can be minimised by experimental designs involving small instrumental line broadening. Keywords
