Abstract
The width of the critical region in ferroelectric phase transitions is discussed along the line of the Landau theory, referring to the recent development of the theory of the renormalization group. It is shown that the electrostatic dipole-dipole interaction results in a very narrow critical region even if other short range interactions are not negligible. Keywords
