Abstract
Exact non-linear equations of motion for reversible processes in the two-fluid model of liquid He II are obtained from a variational principle of the type first introduced by Eckart in a different connection. Transitions between the two fluids are taken into account. Except for a term giving the effect of these transitions the equations obtained are substantially identical with those given by Landau. In the limit of very small velocities they reduce to the linear equations obtained by Tisza. The momentum and energy theorems are shown to be satisfied. Keywords
