Abstract
EDITOR,—Blair H Smith and Nigel T James have not done their homework. The crucial importance of clinical skill and the roles of both patients' needs and non-randomised evidence were emphasised four years ago in our initial paper on evidence based medicine.1 Methodological and clinical criteria for articles in Evidence-Based Medicine are published in every issue, as is a glossary explaining methods and terms.
