Impact du labour–hersage sur la communauté lombricienne, en plantation récente de feuillus

Abstract
Five species of earthworms have been identified in a clay soil at the site of a recent plantation of deciduous trees: Lumbricus terrestris, Lumbricus festivus, Lumbricus castaneus, Aporrectodea turgida, and Eisenia rosea. The effects of ploughing and harrowing on earthworms in such an environment were evaluated using an experimental procedure with three random plots and two sampling periods. Conditions, particularly humidity and temperature, are modified in the top 10 cm of the ploughed and harrowed soil. These effects, combined with the physical impact of the machinery, result in a reduction of the richness, diversity, abundance, and biomass of the earthworm community. The age structure of the community is also affected.[Journal translation]
