Abstract
Theoretical considerations of monopulse antisymmetrical or difference radiation patterns which have optimum properties in the Dolph-Tchebycheff sense are discussed. An approximate technique for synthesizing such patterns from linear arrays or continuous line sources is given. A highly desirable feature of the method is that the excitation function may be written as a simple modification of a (known) conventional Dolph-Tchebycheff excitation function. In addition, the method is also applicable to the synthesis of other specialized antisymmetrical patterns. Keywords
