Abstract
The separation of chyle lipoproteins on columns of hydroxyl apatite has been studied using phosphate buffer pH 6.9 of increasing molarity as eluent. Results obtained with lipoprotein fractions of different densities, isolated by centrifugation, indicate that 0.7 M buffer elutes lipoproteins with a density corresponding to Sf < 1,000. Lipoproteins with Sf < 1,000 cannot be eluted from the column, their lipids, however, can be recovered by eluting with chloroform/methanol. The lymph cholesterol of dietary origin is present to a larger extent in smaller size lipoprotein particles than the triglyceride fatty acids of the same originKeywords
