Neutron-diffraction study of the magnetic structure ofUCo2Ge2

Abstract
The magnetic structure of the tetragonal compound UCo2 Ge2 (with the ThCr2 Si2-type crystallographic structure) has been determined by neutron diffraction from a polycrystalline sample. Below TN=175±5 K the uranium sublattice becomes antiferromagnetic with a wave vector k=(0,0,1) and magnetic moments (1.5±0.2μB at 13 K) along the tetragonal axis.
