Abstract
Direct experimental evidence bearing on the hypothesis that the alpha rhythm is generated by tremor of the extraocular muscles which modulates the corneoretinal potential is presented. The average percent of alpha was continuously measured on a cat during ketamine hydrochloride anesthesia and decamethonium bromide paralysis.
