Abstract
A discussion of the relative value of various methods of breeding as measured by the rate of change per generation. The family (sib) method of breeding, a progeny test, receives special attention because of its great value as a means of promoting improvement in live stock. Emphasis is laid on the absence of exptl. proof of the value of different methods of breeding and the need for work to detn. comparative values. A table of statistics of available evidence is included. A program for quickly increasing the average inherited milk yield of dairy cattle is proposed. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
