Abstract
It has been established that, where lanolin is used for the temporary protection of steel and is applied as a solution in either white spirit or mineral oil, the concentration of lanolin in either solvent must not fall below 12·5% by weight if efficient protection is to be achieved. This is equivalent to 0·006 oz. of lanolin/sq. ft. from white spirit and 0·004 oz./sq. ft. from light mineral oil. Keywords
