Abstract
Analytical solutions of Eq. 1 have beenfound independentlyby investig ators (2,4,13) for two drainage problems in which certain ass umptions have been made on the initial and boundary conditions. A general analytical solution of Eq. 1 subjected to more general initial and boundary conditions has not yet been found because of its nonlinearity. However, numerical methods may be used for an approximate solution of the mixed boundary value problem of Eq. 1. The objective herein is to construct a general computational scheme for Eq. 1 and to study its stability.
