Abstract
An experimental test has been made of the validity of the idea that the quasifree scattering of a proton by the moving proton in the deuteron can be described as free proton-proton scattering modified only by an effective momentum distribution of the proton in the deuteron. The measurement confirmed the dependence on the proton momentum and also yielded the effective momentum distribution producing the scattering. Keywords
