Constant Surface Charge Model in Floc Foam Flotation. The Flotation of Copper(II)

Abstract
Cu(II) is effectively floated from synthetic mixtures and industrial waste samples by floc foam floatation using Fe(OH)3 and sodium lauryl sulfate at pH's of approximately 6.5. The separation becomes marginal at ionic strengths above 0.25 [residual Cu(II) concentrations greater than 1 ppm]. A constant surface charge model for floc foam flotation is found to result in less effective binding than the constant surface potential model.
