Abstract
It is shown that shock-heating and quenching of YBa2Cu3O7-δ superconductors lead to a substantial decrease of the orthorhombicity of the crystal structure. This effect is enhanced by doping the samples with elements substituting at the Cu(1) positions. Keywords
