Abstract
Buildup and decay of oxygen overvoltage on has been studied. Layers of the two modifications were electrodeposited on Pt wires, sealed at both ends into glass. Initial buildup of oxygen overvoltage at constant current is linear with time, and decay on open circuit is logarithmic with time. The results are explained on the basis of a generalized theory of overvoltage. Electrode potentials of have been measured as a function of pH.Keywords
