Abstract
The intensity of second harmonic light produced in reflection by a laser beam incident on silver and silicon surfaces shows a significant variation when a dc electric field is applied normal to the surface. Experimental data on the intensity, polarization, and dispersive properties of the induced surface harmonic polarization are presented and discussed. Keywords
