Magneto-Photoleitung an Germanium

Abstract
Magneto-photoconductivity measurements were made on intrinsic germanium at temperatures between 300°K and 200°K and magnetic fields up to 22.3 kG. If sufficiently thin samples are used, the interband magneto-photoconductivity spectrum of germanium shows oscillatory character. An analysis of energy field dependence and of the quantitative magneto-photoconductivity spectrum decides - also with respect to the well known magnetoabsorption spectrum - the question of wether it is a case of direct LANDAU transitions or wether exciton levels are involved, in favor of the former.
