Coherence effects in multiphoton stripping of atoms

Abstract
Multiphoton stripping of atoms appears as the competition between step processes (one-by-one removal of electrons) and direct processes (several electrons being removed at the same time). These two types of processes cannot be distinguished by time or intensity dependence but have quite different coherence properties.Keywords
