Abstract
Structural abnormalities were found in the clear calls of rhesus monkeys raised in partial social isolation. These abnormalities included abrupt pitch changes, harmonic emphasis shifts, temporal discontinuity, and lack of the characteristic inflection found in such calls from mother‐reared control monkeys. Other forms of vocalization appeared structurally normal. Vocal pathologies were distinctive for each isolate tested and persisted over the age range 8‐24 months. Keywords
