Abstract
In the relatively few years since videodisc has been commercially available, a large variety of instructional applications have been explored. Three major facets of videodisc have been pursued in these applications: its potential for multimedia storage, its capability to pro vide interactive instruction, and its characteristics as an electronic media bridging old and new information technologies. This article reviews projects which have examined these different aspects and discusses the theoretical and practical issues associated with the current and future use of videodisc for instruction. Keywords
