Abstract
The nutritional problems of mothers and children in the Arab Gulf countries were analysed. Although these countries have experienced a significant improvement in economic and health status, several nutritional disorders are still prevalent. Iron deficiency anaemia and obesity are the main nutritional problems among mothers, while low birth weight, undernutrition, iron deficiency anaemia, vitamin D deficiency and dental caries are common among children. Health programmes in this area should include effective measures to promote nutritional status of mothers and children. Keywords
