Über die enzymatische Dehydrierung der Citronensäure.

Abstract
Dehydrogenation of citric acid by cucumber and bean seed dehydrogenases is accelerated by the addition of flavine-enzyme and coenzyme from erythrocytes. The dehydrogenation of citric acid by frog muscle extract also requires coferment and flavine-enzyme, but activation by the latter is not secured with dialyzed extract unless heat-inactivated undialyzed extract is also added. It is concluded that dehydration of citric acid proceeds in 2 steps, only the 2d of which requires flavine-enzyme.
