Abstract
Under contract with the Deparment of Energy, EER is developing a NOx control process with potential to reduce NOx emissions from coal fired utility boilers by up to 85%. CombiNOx is a family of NOx reduction processes which involves the synergistic application of combinations of technologies such as staged combustion, reburning, selective non‐catalytic reduction (SNCR), and methanol injection. Any combination of these technologies can be applied to achieve a desired NOx reduction in a given boiler. Integration of these processes may be site‐specific depending on boiler configuration and required emission limits. Keywords
