Abstract
The immunoperoxidase technique in combination with electron microscopy was used for demonstration of antigenic determinants of Staphylococcus aureus peptidoglycan. Isolated antibodies against four synthetic peptides with amino-acid sequences similar to those found in native staphylococcal peptidoglycans were used. A homogeneous staining of the cell wall from the outer surface to the cell membrane was demonstrated. Keywords
