Abstract
Herniation of intra-abdominal structures through the obturator foramen in the innominate bone has been recognized as a surgical condition since Arnaud de Ronsil1reported the first such incidence before the Royal Academy of Sciences in Paris in 1724. Watson,2in 1938, collected 420 cases from the literature. We were able to find only 8 additional cases from Jan. 1, 1938, to July 1, 1946, most of which were single case reports from widely separated sources. Only 1 case occurs in the records of the Lahey Clinic since its inception in 1925. Short3reported occurrence of a solitary case at the British Royal Infirmary over a period of a quarter of a century.
