A Rapid Method of Collecting Arthropods from Deciduous Fruit Trees2

Abstract
A technique is described for the rapid and efficient sampling of predaceous mites and other arthropods on apple trees. Branches are beaten over a large square funnel of sheet aluminum. Arthropods dislodged into the funnel are washed down with water from a plastic squeeze bottle into a plastic bottle screwed onto the small end of the funnel.
