Abstract
▪ Abstract Elderly people have a very high prevalence of hypertension, which markedly increases their risk for cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Convincing evidence demonstrates the effectiveness of antihypertensive therapy in reducing these risks significantly. With appropriate caution, most elderly hypertensives can be treated and thereby protected from many of the debilities of old age. Keywords
