Abstract
The best antibody response in rabbits to Mycoplasma (PPLO) was obtained when the initial injection was made in the foot pads (FP) and booster injections were made intramuscularly (IM) or IM and intradermally (ID). An adjuvant, either Freund''s complete adjuvant or sodium alginate-calcium glutonate, is necessary for high titer sera when employing these routes. The intravenous route may be used for the booster injection but it is not suitable for the primary injection. The intracorneal route without adjuvant may be used for the primary antigenic stimulus but it is not as good as the FP route. High agglutinin titers were obtained within 8 days following the first injections but growth-inhibiting properties did not appear in the sera until 15 days or longer after the 1st injections. This publication has 13 references indexed in Scilit:
