Abstract
This study examined the effect of alternative scale formats on reporting of extreme attitudes on Liken scales of agreement. The formats were tested on samples of university students who responded to a set of statements about economic systems. In general, a two-stage format generated a greater percentage of extreme-position responses than did the common one-stage format, with a modified one-stage version falling in between. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
