Abstract
Les auteurs présentent un premier bilan des travaux réalisés sur le site de Fontgrasse de 1983 à 1987. Premier habitat de plein air du Paléolithique supérieur fouillé en France méditerranéenne, Fontgrasse apparaît comme un gisement complexe à stratigraphie longue mais contractée dans le temps. En l'état, six niveaux d'habitat possédant chacun d'importantes structures ont pu être reconnus. L'âge du gisement encore indéterminé doit pouvoir se situer dans la première partie du Tardiglaciaire.The authors present their first results about the excavation of the open air site of Fontgrasse between 1983 and 1987. First Upper Palaeolithic site of this type excavated in the French mediterranean area, Fontgrasse appears as a complex site with a long but time-collapsed stratigraphy. So far, six living floors, each with large structures, have been discovered. If no absolute age has yet been established exactly however an occupation is quite sure during the first half of the Late glacial period.Bazile Frédéric, Guillerault Philippe, Monnet Catherine.
